SEALFLEX-FR400 Sealant is a specifically developed flexible solvent free neutral cure gunnable sealant for fire resistant sealing of joints and service penetrations . SEALFLEX-FR 400 tested up to 4 hours in accordance with ASTM E 814 (UL 1479) , UL 2079 & CAN/ULC-S115 . SEALFLEX-FR Sealant bonds to masonry, concrete, calcium silicate board, plasterboard, metal and cable coverings and remains flexible after curing to accommodate thermal movement.
Advantages
Description
Seal flex FR400 is based on a specially developed elastomeric polymer system which gives enhanced technical properties .It cures by loss of carrier to form a flexible seal. It is applied simply from the cartridge/pail and can be finished neatly using suitable tooling. When cured it will be accommodates thermal and moisture movements. It can be over coated with most gloss or emulsion paints.
Test Compliance
Instruction for use
Sealflex FR400 has excellent adhesion to most substrates used in construction, particularly concrete, mortar, block work, wood, anodized bronze. It also bonds very well to some painted surfaces, but it is advisable to carry out a site trail first to assess the suitability of the particular coating in question.
Joint Preparation
Joint surface must be clean and dry remove all dust and laitance by grit blasting, grinding or rigorous wire brushing. Blow all joints clean using dry, oil free compressed air.Where necessary to achieve the correct joint profile, backing cord should be used. Where backing cord is not used place bonding tape in the base of joint. Where a neat finish is required, masking tape should be applied down each side of the joint prior to the sealant works, it should be removed immediately after tooling the sealant.
Priming
Priming is not generally required with this material, when using in dry, sound, well prepared joints or which have been reformed using resin based mortar. For further assistance, consult with the technical team of ORGANIX.
Application
Sealflex FR400 can be applied by hand, trowel or air operated gun. For larger applications it can be pumped directly from the pail. Sealflex FR400 is applicable for hrough firestop penetrations and for floor to wall, floor-to-floor and head of wall applications. It is flexible and is ideal for applications where joint expansion and contraction can occur. Apply required depth of sealant beginning on the edge of the opening (use over various backing materials required ) Insure that the sealant makes complete contact with the inside surface of the opening and also the surface of the penetrating items. On joints, the surfaces should be clean and free from duct ,dirt, oil, grease, loose material, rust or other substances. Apply the required thickness in the joint or over the insulation if required.
Maintenance
If the sealant or system is damaged and the bond is intact, cut out the damaged area and replace.
