PRIMEX – EPDM is a low viscosity solution of synthetic rubber and resins combined with organic, halogen free solvents. It is intended for use for the lap joint. Primex has been formulated with VOC exempt solvents for use in regulated markets where other solvent borne primers can not be used. This primer does not react with atmospheric moisture allowing it to be opened and resealed for use at a later date.
Application Procedure PRIMEX is suitable for sealing the laps. All surfaces to be primed must be firm, flat, dry and free from dust and grease. PRIMEX is applied to the substrate with a brush or lambs wool roller. Laps should be at least 50mm and spread PRIMEX across the lap area. All work surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dirt, dust, debris, oils, un-adhered coatings, deteriorated membrane and othercontaminants that may result in a surface that is not sound or isuneven. If necessary, clean the surface with an approved EPDMor TPO membrane cleaner prior to application.
Coverage Rate The coverage rate for PRIMEX is between 200g/m², dependant upon the evenness and porosity of the substrate and the type of application.
PRIMEX will keep for 6 months at °10+C to °25+C in the unopened container.
Avoid direct sunlight.
Stir thoroughly before use.
The minimum application temperature is °5+C.
